Multi-State Sales and Service – Where Are We Wednesdays (11/07/2018)

Multi-State Sales and Service
Where Are We Wednesdays (11/07/2018)

Happy Wednesday Folks!

Oklahoma Operations Manager Jim sent in the first picture on the left while in Edmond, Oklahoma today.  Oklahoma Elevator Code requires inspections with testing and a written plan of maintenance on all of their commercial elevators.  Jim is traveling with an inspector today to complete the maintenance and assist with testing on several elevators, including this Symmetry Limited Use/Limited Access Elevator we installed in an office building.

Technician Ivan sent in the top middle picture while in Afton, Oklahoma.  He and Technician Donald are installing a Symmetry Home Elevator.  This elevator will service two floors, and has a pass-through style cab, meaning that the elevators has doors that open in the front and in the back.

Senior Technician Ron and Technician Jesse sent in the bottom middle picture while in Kimberling City, Missouri.  They are installing a Bruno Stairlift.  Although we can order virtually any brand of stairlift, we do keep a stock of used stairlifts available as well.  As long as the stairs are configured correctly, this can be an economic option with a quick installation turnaround.  This inventory is dynamic, and can change daily.

Kansas City Sales Consultant Amy sent in the top right picture while in Prairie Village, Kansas.  She came to check on the installation of a Symmetry Home Elevator and snapped a picture of the crew.  Pictured are Technician Jake, Technician Tim, and Kansas City Technician Darren doing their best tough model pose.  Could there be a calendar in the future???

The final picture on the right was sent in by Lead Technician Adam in Ballwin, Missouri.  Along with Technician Austin, they are installing a Symmetry Home Elevator.  The wood paneling and stain of this elevator cab are gorgeous, it will be great to see once the product is finished!

Our crews are also in Tulsa, Kansas City, Village of Loch Lloyd, Parkville, Holiday Island and Branson today.  If you see one of our trucks, feel free to tag us on Facebook using #countryhomeelevator or #wherearewewednesdays

Limited Use Limited Access Elevators – Where Are We Wednesdays (10/31/2018)

Limited Use Limited Access Elevators
Where Are We Wednesdays (10/31/2018)

Happy Wednesday Folks!

Lead Technician Adam sent in the first four pictures on the left while installing a Symmetry Limited Use/Limited Access Elevator in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma today.  Technicians Austin and Jessie are assisting with the installation in this office building (can you find Austin in the top middle picture?).  What is a Limited Use/Limited Access Elevator (LU/LA)?  The LU/LA elevator provides access for low occupancy / low rise commercial buildings where a traditional passenger elevator is not feasible or required by code. It is ideal for applications up to six stops and 25 feet (standard) or 40 feet (with approved variance) of travel.  All LU/LA elevators are limited by speed, travel and capacity in order to comply with ASME A17.1 Section 5.2 and the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).

What makes the Symmetry LU/LA exceptional?  The Symmetry LU/LA has the shallowest pit depth required in the industry (13” pit), easing construction costs.  It has the shortest overhead required in the industry (106”), making it easier to fit in smaller spots.  All lights used for the Symmetry LU/LA are energy saving LED, including the COP & car lights.  It also includes directional indicators.

The final picture on the right was sent in by Technician Ivan in Springfield, Missouri.  Along with Senior Technician Ron, they are installing a Symmetry LU/LA Retrofit Modernization Kit to an existing Flexi Lift LU/LA.  The company that made Flexi Lifts is no longer in business, so when the local school started having issues with their lift we worked with Symmetry Elevating Systems to come up with a Retrofit Kit that would fit for the repairs and Modernization.

Our crews are also in Tulsa, Saint Marys, Prairie Village, Village of Loch Lloyd, St. Louis and Wichita today.  If you see one of our trucks, feel free to tag us on Facebook using #countryhomeelevator or #wherearewewednesdays

Custom Home Elevators – Where Are We Wednesdays (10/24/2018)

Custom Home Elevators
Where Are We Wednesdays (10/24/2018)

Happy Wednesday Folks!

Kansas City Technician Darren sent in the first three pictures on the left while at a service call in an undisclosed location today.  This is one of a few secret elevators we have installed, this homeowner is able to access hidden parts of the home with it.  The elevator is completely hidden by paneling, one small panel opens to reveal the elevator call button.  The elevator door looks like a wardrobe from the outside, a CS Lewis inspiration.   Our Symmetry Home Elevators are fully customizable, and we can work with homeowners to add special features.  Another secret elevator we installed has a hidden button, guests can ride that elevator but only the homeowner knows how to access a split level.

The top picture on the right was sent in by Lead Technician Adam in Jefferson City, Missouri.  He is finishing up on a Symmetry Limited Use/Limited Access (LU/LA) Elevator downtown, and couldn’t help but park in front of the Governor’s Mansion!  This low-rise elevator was created to fill the void between large commercial elevators and vertical platform lifts. The LU/LA helps architects and specification writers meet code requirements, stay within budgetary restraints, and make use of limited physical space in both new construction and remodel work.

The final picture on the right was sent in by Senior Technician Ron in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Along with Technician Ivan, they are installing a Symmetry Home Elevator.  This elevator will service three floors and has been customized with glass doors and windows.

Our crews are also in Village of Loch Lloyd, Parkville, Cameron, Independence, Arkadelphia, Edmond, and Oklahoma City today.  If you see one of our trucks feel free to tag us on Facebook using #countryhomeelevator or #wherearewewednesdays

Lift Service and Maintenance – Where Are We Wednesdays (10/17/2018)

Lift Service and Maintenance
Where Are We Wednesdays (10/17/2018)

Happy Wednesday Folks!

Senior Technician Ron sent in the first picture on the top left while in Leawood, Kansas today.  Our office received a service call from a homeowner that could not get their National Wheel-O-Vator Destiny Home Elevator to work.  This elevator was installed by another company, and with the manufacturer no longer in business they felt hopeless.  Although we do have a large stock of OEM parts from this and other manufacturers available, when it comes to electronic parts this issue was better to be repaired with up to date components.   Ron has worked with this equipment for over a decade, and was able to team with Symmetry Elevating Solutions to come up with a Retrofit to correct the issue.

The middle picture on the left was sent in by Technician Tim in Fort Scott, Kansas.  Pictured is a door locking mechanism in a typical home elevator, this mechanism ensures that outer doors cannot be opened while the elevator is in service.  During his routine maintenance, he discovered that this older elevator had outdated locks so he is replacing them.  When these locks were first introduced, they had plastic components.  Upgrades in safety have now updated these locks to have metal components, making them more durable.

The picture on the bottom left was sent in by Technician Ivan in Joplin, Missouri.  He is working with a State Inspector today to perform the annual inspection on an Inclined Platform Lift.  The State of Missouri Division of Fire Safety-Elevators Division requires annual inspection of all commercial elevators, platform lifts, and stairway lift equipment. The state also requires adherence to ASME A17.1 Section 8.6 regarding elevator & dumbwaiter maintenance and ASME A18.1 Section 10.2.1 regarding platform lift and stairway lift maintenance. These codes require a written plan for regularly scheduled maintenance, documentation of all maintenance and service performed, and availability of this documentation in the machine room for inspector and service personnel review.  Country Home Elevator offers many plan options to help business owners stay in compliance.

The final picture on the right was sent in by Oklahoma Operations Manager Jim in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He is completing a pre-installation check at this high school before he installs an Inclined Platform Lift.  Instead of needing a separate space like an elevator or vertical platform lift, an Inclined Platform Lift can be installed directly on the stairs to move a wheelchair from one floor to another.

Our crews are also in Springfield, Fayetteville, St Genevieve, Hot Springs, Verona, Norman, Edmond, Nevada, and El Dorado Springs today.  If you see one of our trucks feel free to tag us on Facebook using #countryhomeelevator or #wherearewewednesdays

American Made Products – Where Are We Wednesdays (10/10/2018)

American Made Products
Where Are We Wednesdays (10/10/2018)

Happy Wednesday Folks!

Starting on the left, Lead Technician Adam and Technician Austin are at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville.  They are installing a Symmetry Vertical Platform Lift in one of the Fraternity Houses.  This platform lift is housed in a hoistway that was previously stacked closets, making it fully enclosed.  Once the installation is completed and the jobsite is cleaned up, the lift will be ready for use!  All of the products you will read about today were made not only in the USA, but in the Midwest.  Symmetry Elevating Solutions’ products come out of Peoria, Illinois.

The middle picture on the top was sent in by Senior Technician Ron and Technician Jessie.  They are installing another Canton Elevator for Grand Country Inn in Branson, Missouri.  Canton Elevator Incorporated products come out of North Canton, Ohio.

The picture on the bottom was sent in by Technicians Tim and Jake in Shell Knob, Missouri.  They are performing a prewire for a Symmetry Home Elevator.  During this visit they will check all final measurements of the hoistway to ensure that the elevator installation goes as smoothly as possible.

The final picture on the right was sent in by Oklahoma Operations Manager Jim in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He is at a service call for a Dumbwaiter made by Waupaca Elevator Company.  These home dumbwaiters come in either 100 or 200 pound capacities, and help the homeowner carry groceries, laundry, and holiday decorations from floor to floor.  They are unobtrusive, when the doors are closed they simply look like hallway cabinets.  Waupaca Elevator Company has been manufacturing dumbwaiters since 1957 and their products are based out of Appleton, Wisconsin.

Our crews are also in Springfield, Lenexa, Parkville, Licking, St. Louis, and Chestnut Ridge today.  If you see one of our trucks feel free to tag us on Facebook using #countryhomeelevator or #wherearewewednesdays

Curved Stairlifts – Where Are We Wednesdays (10/03/2018)

Curved Stairlifts
Where Are We Wednesdays (10/03/2018)

Happy Wednesday Folks!

The first three pictures were sent in by Sales Consultant John today in Springfield, Missouri.  This week crews have been installing the pictured Handicare Freecurve Stairlift, and now that the job is complete the customer is trying it out.

Country Home Elevator can install even the most complex curved stairway lifts with ease. To ensure an exact fit on your staircase, we utilize the Handicare proprietary PhotoSurvey3D system to take pictures of your stairs. These measurements are then uploaded into our system and transposed into an instant preview of how your stairlift will look in your home.  Our sales staff all have tablets that customers can use for the virtual experience.

This stairlift was installed with a special feature, a retractable rail.  In the first picture on the bottom left, the customer rode the stairlift to the bottom of the rail and exited safely on the main floor.  See the black piece on the rail right above the seat?  This is a retractable joint.  In the next picture, the stairlift and rail have been retracted onto itself, so it does not take up room in the walkway.  Retractable rails are an option for both straight and curved lifts, and are operated with the remote for easy use.

The next picture was sent in by Oklahoma Operations Manager Jim in Perkins, Oklahoma.  He is at a service call for a Car Lift, a personal garage lift used to maximize space by stacking cars using a platform.  They are utilized by first parking a car on the platform then lowing the lift into the pit and parking a car on top, or parking a car on top and lifting it above so a second car can be parked at ground level.  The first option is used by homeowners that want to keep a vehicle hidden, the latter for homeowners with higher ceiling space.  Country Home Elevator offers a few different options and brands when it comes to this type of lift.

The last picture on the bottom right was sent in by Lead Technician Adam in Chesterfield, Missouri.  Along with Technician Jesse, they are installing a Symmetry Home Elevator.  This view is during installation in which the car is between floors and Adam is below making adjustments.

Our crews are also in Rogers, St Marys, Overland Park, Kimberling City, El Dorado Springs, Branson, Tulsa, Vinita, and Norwood today.  If you see one of our trucks feel free to tag us on Facebook using #countryhomeelevator or #wherearewewednesdays
