Cibes Ascenda Wins Prestigious iF DESIGN AWARD 2025

lift design award

We’re excited to share that the Cibes Ascenda, one of our lift offerings through Cibes Symmetry, has earned recognition at the renowned iF DESIGN AWARD 2025. This global competition, which drew nearly 11,000 entries from 66 countries, is celebrated for recognizing excellence in design, innovation, and sustainability.

Held over three days in Hamburg, the jury consisted of 131 experts from 23 countries, all of whom evaluated entries based on strict criteria. This year, there was a heightened emphasis on sustainability as one of the five evaluation categories. A dedicated Sustainability Working Group provided valuable insights to ensure entries were evaluated with environmental responsibility in mind.

The Cibes Ascenda Minivator stood out among the competition with its remarkable blend of innovation, safety, and quality. Designed for two-story homes, this lift features advanced screw-driven technology, a hallmark of Swedish craftsmanship. With a fully enclosed cabin that meets and exceeds both USA and EU safety standards, it prioritizes user protection without compromising on style or functionality.

Key Safety and Comfort Features:

  • Automatic Top Cover Mechanism: Closes over the shaft opening during descents, offering enhanced safety by preventing accidental falls—particularly important for households with children or pets.
  • Backup Power Supply and Manual Crank: Provides peace of mind during emergencies by allowing controlled descents when necessary.
  • User-Friendly Controls: The intuitive handrail control and optional fold-down seat make the Cibes Ascenda accessible and comfortable for all users.

The iF DESIGN AWARD is sponsored by the non-profit iF Design Foundation, which aims to highlight the importance of design in addressing social challenges and encouraging sustainable innovation. Winners will be celebrated at the prestigious iF Design Award Night at the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin on April 28, 2025.
